Some of the Naval Museum's new acquisitions come from donations made to the collections. Do you want to make a donation?
For every museum, donations are an important way to make new acquisitions. The Naval Museum sometimes accepts donations that are related to the history of the Swedish Navy or the Royal Coast Artillery.
If you want to make a donation, please contact one of the curators. Contact information can be found under the link "Service & Contact". The donation must have a connection to the Swedish naval or coast artillery-forces. Please note that we can't accept all donations we are offered. Since we have limited storage-space, we try to collect only one item of every kind. If we already have what you want to donate, we might decline your offer.
The Naval Museum can't offer guarantees that your donation will be exhibited in the museum. Like most other museums, exhibition space is limited. However, every accepted donation is a valuable addition to the collections, since it can be used by researchers or in future exhibitions.
When you make a donation, it is important that you and the Naval Museum make an agreement on how the object may be used. If you let the museum utilize the donation freely, it can be used in for example our pedagogic work with school-children.
If we accept your donation, you will recieve a formal thank you, in which you will find the object's unique acquisition number.
Please, contact us if you want to make a donation!
