Oversight

The Swedish Agency for Digital Government (DIGG) is responsible for monitoring compliance with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your feedback, you can contact DIGG and raise the issue.

Information about shortcomings in the website’s accessibility

This website is partially compliant with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services due to the shortcomings described below.

Video

Videos lack alternative representation

Videos published on the website before 23 September 2020 lack alternative representation and are therefore not accessible to all users.

Measure: Videos published on the website before 23 September 2020 will not be provided with alternatives due to lack of resources. Videos published on marinmuseum.se after 23 September 2020 will gradually be provided with alternative representation in the form of transcripts. SMTM does not provide audio description for videos on the web, as this is currently considered an unreasonable burden.

Performance

The website sometimes experiences longer response/loading times than what is considered acceptable performance.

Measure: An investigation to improve performance has been carried out and an action plan is in place. The ambition is to improve performance to an acceptable level during 2025.

Measures to address accessibility issues

Our ambition is to resolve all known accessibility issues by 31 December 2025.

How we test the website

In 2019, SMTM together with the contracted web supplier Knowit Experience Linköping conducted a self-assessment of accessibility on www.marinmuseum.se. The work was based on the checklists provided by DIGG at www.digg.se/webbriktlinjer/about-webbriktlinjer. A plan was then established for the measures required to ensure that www.marinmuseum.se complies with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services. Since then, new routines have been created to ensure that www.marinmuseum.se maintains a high level of accessibility.

For example, the action plan and this accessibility statement are updated at least once a year, based on both automated and manual testing. In addition, accessibility guidelines have been integrated into daily work through inclusion in design and development phases as well as supplementary testing routines.

In parallel with the technical development work, SMTM also works internally to maintain good accessibility of published material. This is done by training editors, reviewing web content, as well as establishing and continuously implementing action plans.

The website was published in spring 2016.

This statement was last updated on 17 January 2025.
