Join a sailing trip aboard boats with a long history.
Join a sailing experience in the Karlskrona archipelago aboard the Naval Museum’s historic boats, some of which are up to 200 years old. The sailing trips are organised in collaboration with the friends’ association Carlskrona Boat Squadron – one of Sweden’s oldest sailing societies.
Among the boats are Den Vite, Ejdern and Falken. Some of them were once used as courier boats for the commanders at Drottningskär and Kungsholmen, two historic fortresses guarding the entrance to the Karlskrona naval base. Several of the other boats served as lifeboats and transport boats on the Navy’s largest ships. Falken, built in 1830 during the reign of King Karl XIV Johan, is believed to be the world’s oldest boat still used for racing.
Good to know:
The longer sailing tour includes a picnic and activities on an island in the archipelago.
Sailing trips may be cancelled in poor weather conditions.
