Summer at the Naval museum

Summer at the Naval Museum is full of activities for both young and old! You can visit the museum ships and explore the exhibition about the navy’s smaller boats in the historic Sloop and Longboat Shed. Children can get creative in the Sailor’s Workshop, inspired by the exhibitions, and try their hand at tricky knots in the Knot Shed. Welcome to summer at the Naval Museum!

1 JUNE–31 AUGUST

THE MUSEUM SHIPS*
Daily, 11:00–16:00
At the quay outside the Naval Museum, the museum ships are moored. You are welcome aboard the full-rigged ship Jarramas and the missile boat Västervik.  

THE SLOOP AND LONGBOAT SHED*
Daily, 11:00–16:00
The 18th-century Sloop and Longboat Shed, opposite the Naval Museum, once stored the navy’s small boats and now hosts an exhibition about them.

23 JUNE–17 AUGUST

THE SAILOR’S WORKSHOP*
Open daily, 11:00–16:00
Location: Floor 2
Let your creativity run wild in the Sailor’s  Workshop, where you can create, paint, and craft together. The workshop offers a range of educational activities for children accompanied by an adult.


THE KNOT SHED*
Open daily, 11:00–16:00
Location: Floor 1
Master the art of knot tying and unleash your inner sailor! Knots have been used by man for thousands of years, not least by sailors, and there are lots of different kinds of knots. How many do you know?


AUDIO GUIDE*
Listen to the free audio guide on your mobile in Swedish, English, German or Polish. It covers level 1 and 2, the Submarine Hall, the museum ships and Stumholmen island. Download the Marinmuseum app or listen on our website.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the museum.
